      This solder, adhesive heat shrink butt connector kit is perfect for the person who doesn't like to solder or crimp when splicing various gauges of wires together. Hot air from a heat gun melts the center solder ring into the two crossed bare wires and the outer tube shrinks around the insulated wire jacket resulting in a firm, water tight, long lasting connection.

      Heat Shrink Insulated Waterproof Solder Butt Connector Kit 100-Pack

       

      Solder is recommended to give you the best connection between wires, and wire connectors, but isn't always possible or practical. Standard crimp butt splice connectors can pull loose if not done properly and don't seal out moisture which can lead to intermittent connections. The solder ring inside the NTE adhesive lined heatshrink tube enables you to get that perfect connection without using a soldering iron or gun, and no crimping is needed. Just stick your bare wires into each side of the butt connector so they cross underneath the solder ring (without having any bare wires outside the heat shrink tubing). Apply hot forced air, 266° F (54,4 °C) or higher, to the solder ring until the solder melts and the tubing shrinks tightly around the wire jacket. Inspect the bare wires in the center of the butt connector to ensure they are still crossed and the solder is melted to each wire. The adhesive melts with the solder and the tubing shrinks to give the splice a water tight seal. Heat guns (like our 370-364) reach the desired temperature quickly and work the best. A very hot hair dryer may also work.

       

      The 1.06" (27 mm) long clear transparent sleeve has colored rings that identify the wire gauge accepted. The yellow rings are for 12-10 gauge, blue are for 16-14 gauge, the red are for 22-18 gauge, and the white are for 26-24 gauge. The included organizer case contains 10 yellow, 30 blue, 35 red, and 25 white solderless butt connectors.
