Product details
Dayton Audio MK402BTX Powered Bluetooth 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair with 3.5mm Aux In
The MK402BTX offers the same fantastic sound quality and articulation as the original but adds the wonderful amenity of a wireless connection. The built-in amplifier on the MK402BTX is able to provide up to 80 watts of max output power, easily enough to power these speakers. The MK402BTX also allows you to change tracks, volume, and even pause/play songs from the speaker itself.
Beauty More than Skin Deep
The MK402BTX features an attractive textured, black vinyl finish that stands out at first glance. The cabinet offers a unique geometric design for the baffle that sets it apart from much more basic speakers in its price range. The grill is removable and made of a high-quality black cloth that discretely obscures the most appealing features of this design, the drivers.
Elegant 1.91cm Silk Dome Tweeter
The 1.91cm tweeter is elegant with a very airy top-end that can be appreciated by anybody that enjoys the delicate side of music that is often left behind by most speakers. The dispersion from this tweeter provides a life-like ambiance that truly sets a scene for the music.
Impressive Low Frequency Extension from a 10.2cm Woofer
The woofer is able to play down to the 60 Hz range with ease. A 10.2cm woofer playing low frequencies would normally limit the upper-frequency range, that is not the case here. The woofer plays through a substantial portion of the vocal range, adding coherency and smoothness to music.
Crossover
The built-in crossover creates a non-fatiguing, enjoyable listening experience. It features a 3.3 kHz, 3rd order high-pass, 2nd order low-pass The 7-component crossover uses asymmetrical slopes to help blend the two drivers in a more musical way. The crossover now has a flatter treble response that delivers a smoother high-end. Terminals feature 5-way gold plated posts for simple and secured connectivity.
Control at Your Fingertips
The MK402BT can be controlled via the controller atop the active speaker. This controller allows you to set volume, start and stop playback, and change the source.

Fantastic little speakers! Beautifully clear audio with a nice deep bass range. These are well worth the price if you're looking for an easy replacement for some desk speakers.
The only issue I have is the weird noises it makes when you switch them on and when connecting a Bluetooth device. There doesn't seem to be a way to disable that, and its unfortunate that it sounds like R2D2 every time I boot my PC.

I bought these after seeing them getting lots of recommendation. After being very disappointed with the sound quality of several cheap Bluetooth speakers I was looking for small, STEREO, with great sound across the spectrum, and reasonably portable. I bought these after seeing them getting lots of recommendation. After being very disappointed with the sound quality of several cheap Bluetooth speakers I was looking for small, STEREO, with great sound across the spectrum, and reasonably portable. These are just fantastic! I love the sound, which is clear and crisp with plenty of low end. So much more detailed than everything else I've tried. Highly recommended. The only negative, and the reason for losing 1 star, is the loud and annoying 'starwars' sound on start-up, and the equally loud and annoyingly long 'bird tweet' sound when you connect via Bluetooth. There's no way you are turning these on without the rest of the house knowing, which at night, is frustrating. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn these sounds off or reduce the volume and this really does need to be resolved to get the 5 stars that they deserve. Please let me know if anyone has found a way to do this... even if it means getting the soldering iron out!
