With high excursion capabilities and low Fs, Dayton Audio's TCP115-4 can produce a surprising amount of bass for a 4" woofer. In addition to its low frequency performance, this driver also performs very well through the midrange, making this driver ideal for use in smaller 2-way designs.

Dayton Audio TCP115-4 4" Treated Paper Cone Woofer

The TCP115-4 combines a large motor, 1" 4-layer voice coil, vented pole, and a sizable rubber surround to make use of its 4 mm of XMAX. This combination of features makes it a very versatile driver which can be used as a bass driver in a small 2-way system, center channel, or even portable Bluetooth speaker designs.

Nice built speaker. However, the TS parameters of the this driver are completely off and don't make much sense for a driver of this size. It can only be a mistake in the document number. I really double checked my measurements (break in 4 days, CLIO, did same measurement on 2 drivers) and they are terrible off. My measurements gives me a Fs of 93 Hz, VAS 1.1L etc. and the other parameters are way off as well. If you consider using this driver, m...

Ik heb een foutje gemaakt. M’n review van de PS95-8 heeft betrekking op de TCP115-4 die heel laag gaat, maar z’n grenzen kent en bij overbelasting gaat zwabberen. De PS95-8 vind ik een hele mooie midden en hogetonen speaker. Top!

Good enough performance for the price. It has a quite a bit of THD (above 1% at decent volumes) but again, can't really complain since it's so cheap. Would recommend if you want to to have a fun, cheap project.

Well, I was expecting more, based on specs and reviews. May be good for some computer speakers but not much more. Thin and quiet bass, not very low... as it is really normal from that size. So, no magic here.

This was my first purchase on Soundimports, and I must say the shipment was really quick! The driver: Just amazing, I don't have real words to describe it. If You tune it to 50hz it goes there! Even lower. For a 4" subwoofer there is absolutely nothing wrong for the price. I'd recommend it for everyone who wants to start building diy speakers and experiment with them.

Considering it's a 4 inch midwoofer and costs only 15€, performance is great. I put two of these into a 9.8L bass reflex enclosure tuned around 50Hz and the bass response is really impressive. Paired with two nd16fa-6 tweeters and crossed at 4400Hz with a series crossover (inspired by the "Dayton 4" project you can find online), the sound is really good through the whole frequency range. I am really satisfied.

We used two of these in a transmission line enclosure arround 122 cm of lenght in combination with the hi-end dome series of visaton. The Low frequency production of these woofers in a transmission line is enormous deep { 43hz @ F3 / 32hz @ F10} and powerfull. The plan is to use this reasonably priced unit as a replacement for a dead mid woofer in an Argon Octave 4. Measurements shows that the unit may work as a substitute. Unfortunately the unit isn't magnetically shielded.
