Our DIY speaker kits include everything one needs to build them. The kits differ from what type of speaker one wants to build. Bookshelf speakers from Denovo Audio, for example, contain woofers, tweeters, terminal cups, port tubes, speaker wires and pre-designed (but not pre-assembled) crossovers, including capacitors, resistors and coils – all matched to another. HiVi Swans, on the other hand, also offers DIY 3-way speaker kits with additional midrange woofers for an even more authentic sound experience!
What is the difference between DIY speaker kits and pre-assembled speakers?
Unless one detached and inspects their pre-assembled speakers, the difference is that one does not know what quality manufacturers chose for their "internal components", such as crossover components. Often those parts are the ones manufacturers save on to meet their production budget (not all, of course). By building their own speakers with our DIY speaker kits, one can exactly see the provided components and decide for oneself if one wants, for example, the capacitors with some from ClarityCap, in order to create a true high-end DIY speaker kit!
What types of DIY speakers can I build?
Generally speaking, with our DIY speaker kits with cabinets, one can build DIY tower speakers, DIY desktop speakers, DIY bookshelf speakers, but also DIY subwoofers or even DIY portable speakers. Nevertheless, this is not where the project needs to end! Based on one's skills, they can extend the project to transforming the passive speakers into active speakers with WiFi, Bluetooth and other specs thanks to our plate amplifiers and/or other amplifier modules!
