        • A new diaphragm
        • A new voice coil
        • New surround and gasket

         

        Another option is to purchase a replacement tweeter from a speaker manufacturer. Some speaker manufacturers, such as Falcon Acoustics and Madisound, sell replacement tweeters for the D2606/9220.

        Replacing a tweeter is a relatively easy process. The following steps outline the general process:

        1. Remove the old tweeter from the speaker cabinet.
        2. Remove the old diaphragm, voice coil, surround, and gasket.
        3. Install the new diaphragm, voice coil, surround, and gasket.
        4. Align the tweeter and mount it back into the speaker cabinet.
        5. Crossover the tweeter to the woofer using a crossover network.
