Audtek ODMC-12 Premium Toslink Digital Optical Cable 3.6 meter

Fiber optic cables harness the speed and data density that only light can deliver. Another feature of using light to deliver S/PDIF information between audio components is that noise is completely eliminated. It is not possible for EMI or RFI to enter into or alter the audio signal. That is not to say that all optical audio cables are perfect. Using a very thin fiber optic cable can lead to kinks in the line that disrupt signal transmission. Inferior Toslink connectors can damage equipment permanently—or just not fit your audio components sockets at all! Hazy, unpolished fiber tips create dropped data bits that can create intermittent operation.
