Dayton Audio ND91-8 3-1/2" Aluminum Cone Full-Range Driver 8 Ohm

Dayton Audio's ND91 aluminum cone full-range drivers are the latest addition to the acclaimed ND Series high output/low distortion neodymium transducers. By increasing the original ND90's voice coil diameter from 3/4" to 1" and adding a copper alloy shorting ring, the ND91-8 features even lower distortion and delivers better bass impact and dynamic range—with peak Xmax up to 25 mm!

This high-BL version further exploits the low distortion characteristics of the Neo-Balanced motor's optimized magnetic field, making the ND91 drivers an excellent choice for full-range point-source speaker enclosures, as well as extremely accurate, high resolution line arrays.

The best midbass driver, period. It's not great as a fullrange, as it gets noticeably directional, but the things it can do down low, considering its size, are phenomenal. Great for very compact 2-way bookshelves, for example combined with ND25/ND16 and ND105PR (or two ND90PR). Also great for very compact subwoofers or soundbars.

I bought one ND91 driver and I used it in an portable speaker together with 2x DMA105 PR. Taking into account that the calculated enclosure volume is only 2 liter and the driver is built as a full-range, the bass is incredible. Both ND driver series and DMA PR series worth considering in your future projects!

Solid bass performer for its size, will handle a lot of power. Audible flow noise from the ventilation at higher excursions. Nice, clean and punchy sound, but it's very directional at higher frequencies, so for HiFi applications it needs to be supported by a tweeter. Dear Sirs, For the moment I’ve only tested the ND91 for T/S parameters and frequency response and the conclusion is that the results are consistent for the 16 drivers tested, but both the impedance curve and the frequency responses downloaded from the official site are a little off, at least in the 2 ltr closed box where they were tested, one at a time. Therefore I recommend that the files should be updated and/or rectified for this, perhap...
