        The Jantzen Audio 000-5347 iron core coil is an essential component in crafting high-fidelity speaker crossovers, especially tailored for the bass and mid frequencies. This coil features a substantial inductance of 8.6 mH, combined with a low direct current resistance (DCR) of just 0.59 ohms, thereby ensuring the damping factor of the driver is not compromised, and efficiency remains high. Wound with high-purity 18 AWG copper wire around a Permite core with discs, it significantly diminishes hysteresis and distortion compared to ferrite core coils. With an inductance tolerance of 3%, it enables precise crossover designs leading to accurate sound reproduction. While it is generally recommended for the bass and mid-section in crossovers, its high power handling capability, determined by the core/disc size and wire thickness, makes it a versatile choice for high-performance audio systems.
