400Mhz SHARC-processor: higher precision, dynamic range

The upgraded onboard 400 MHz Analog Devices SHARC processor also enables substantial processing upgrades previously available only on more expensive platforms. One example is 96 kHz internal processing for true high-resolution audio capability and assignable FIR filter taps for sophisticated equalization, crossover, and room correction capabilities. All to be accessed and programmed with miniDSP’s easy-to-use interface software. The SHARC processor can perform fixed-point as well as floating-point calculations. This makes the miniDSP 2x4 HD Boxed perfect for for a wide range of applications. 

Next level I/O capabilities

I/O capabilities get an upgrade too, with the addition of USB audio streaming up to 192 kHz and a TOSLINK digital input. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between miniDSP 2x4 and miniDSP 2x4 HD?

The 2x4HD has 10x more processing power, USB audio streaming, and a lot more control features. It's the next-generation platform based on XMOS + SHARC DSP. Please be aware that the miniDSP 2x4 is end of life and will not be manufactured anymore.

What is the maximum delay for miniDSP 2x4 HD?

The miniDSP 2x4 HD units have a range of allowable delay values that extends to 80 msec.

Can I use a RCA to XLR adapter with the 2x4 HD?

You can indeed build an adapter to use the unbalanced inputs/outputs with balanced connectors. However, please note that this doesn't mean you will be benefited from the advantage of balanced connections (ex. better noise rejection, higher output power). An unbalanced to Balanced conversion is also prone to grounding issues (ground loops). We strongly recommend for that matter to either use an active converter or isolation transformer adaptor.
