This is my third purchase of a MiniDSP device, and all three times I had problems (this time impossibility of updating the firmware), resolved with great difficulty and not completely. They are devices of good performance and good value for money but, in my experience, not very reliable.
As for SoundImports, however, 5 stars. Fast and perfect service.

For years I used DSPs from the PA sector for my hi-fi system. They had many features I never needed and ugly front panels with fireworks of displays and flickering LEDs. Some were noisy, too. Then I tried the miniDSP HD: It is the best solution for active 2-way stereo systems I know. The software is simple and has the most important features to calibrate the sound to the room and listening position. The sound is neutral and noise-free, the design simple and discreet. Three things struck me particularly positively: first, the PEQ's in the input channels, second, the switching of the input gain to 4 mV, and third, the indication of the delay in cm. This makes it very easy to apply appropriate time correction to the speakers. I also tried the miniDSP as a preamplifier with the optional RC. This works, but is not recommended because of the few inputs and the weak operating comfort. Nevertheless: a great product.

Room EQ is essential for a good quality listening and this thing can do it. 10 output PEQs per channel and 10 input PEQs per channel are adequate, since unlike on some other DSPs, they don't have a fixed frequency. And there's also 4096 taps of FIR (total), which is enough for mid and high frequency range.

My problem with it is mostly the noise. Even though I combined it with two T-AMPs from Wondom, which claim a relatively low 85dB SNR, these are still much more silent than miniDSP. At 86dB/1W sensitivity of my satellite speakers, noise is very noticeable.
The ideal usecase in my opinion is bass management for multiple subwoofers, where noise or DAC quality don't matter, or in combination with not very expensive equipment (but expensive enough to excuse 260€ DSP) in a problematic room.

I cant recommend it at all. It randomly stops being recognized by windows which makes impossible to change the settings. Additionally its not after going through in ports it changes the sound quality to worse. Tried connecting external dac to it and there was no point of using dac in that case. What is interesting is that dac and mini dsp dac itself as a starting chain of the signal sounds great. The limitation of only 10 filters a channel is als...

Super apparaatje, ik raad dit dingetje zeker aan, je kan je subs echt zeer goed met elkaar laten samenwerken.
Heel veel verschillende subs gehad, altijd problemen met intergratie in de kamer, room respons is niet goed, 40hz veel te hoog, 50hz hoor je bijna niet etc, nu na wat spelen en metingen muziek afspelen klinkt de bass bijna net zo goed als via headset, echt top !!!

Downloading the software took a bit of work though, I think the website could be a little clearer on how to find the downloads. And what I didn't like was the price didn't include the cost of importation in this post-brexit world. Be aware that you will get a sting if you buy from the UK. I think a bit of transparency about the actual cos...

Magic in a tiny box. The flexible options in this bit of kit is are outstanding. I used two outputs for my subs and another output/input for my centre. The results were that impressive I bought another for my mains. A great way to work with or totally bypass auto EQ.

Ich habe das Gerät zur Raumkorrektur meines TV gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis.
Kleines Manko: Das Gerät hat eine sehr hohe Leistungsaufnahme im Ruhezustand. Es ist immer handwarm, selbst wenn kein Signal anliegt.

Worked for what I needed it for.
I needed to separate the signal between my two Klipsch RP-500Ms and my SVS PB-1000. So I used this to take the RCA in from my iFi iDSD Micro Black Label and output the first two channels to my Emotiva Basx amp which went to the Klipsch speakers and the second two channels out to the SVS sub.
In addition to this, I got the mic and measured then tuned by ear.
I applied the measured corrections to the sub and spea...
Worked for what I needed it for.

Parcel has arrived quickly by DHL. I have used it as active crossover for 2way speakers. I have used two amplifiers: Marantz for woofers and Dayton for tweeters. I have replaced active crossover with DSP which has worked almost out of the box. I have tested it with different sources: from DAC via analog input, from Marantz CD player via audio and from Windows PC via USB. Sound was great, without any hiss or noise.

Een erg fijne DSP met veel mogelijkheden om bijvoorbeeld je subwoofer correct in te stellen. De mogelijkheid om icm Room EQ Wizard je subs van een goede EQ en delay te voorzien is zeer prettig en effectief.

It's very flexible in terms of routing - and can be used as a mono on/three or four way active crossover, a stereo active crossover, for sub management, or as a simple stereo unit for room correction.

It seamlessly integrates with the (free) REW software to aid room integration.
I have since bought a third unit to add corrective eq in the monitor path of a studio control room which up until now appeared to have insurmountable issues with it's frequency response in the low end, where it has proved to be very effective. Very happy!
The only (very) slight reservation I have is that you have to be quite careful with gain structure to get the best performance and avoid a little bit of noise - to get the best out of the unit, it's better to hit the inputs quite hot and use some attenuation between the outputs and the power amps.

DAC quality is poor and killing the soul of music. With my motherboard and chipset this card is very noisy. Good for sub integration...but never use for main speaker...
