Peerless by Tymphany XT25BG60-04 1" Shielded Dual Ring Radiator Tweeter
This member of the XT tweeter family utilizes two Tymphany technologies to deliver exceptional sound quality: the ring radiator patent, and the central waveguide patent. This model features a 4 ohm 25 mm voice coil, mounted in a ferrite magnet motor. The tweeter also features a rear chamber to create extended low frequency response. The faceplate features recessed mounting holes which minimizes reflections off of mounting screws.
It depends. While it shares a standard mounting size, its unique frequency response and sensitivity may require crossover adjustments for proper integration. If replacing a dome tweeter, expect some differences in dispersion characteristics and tonal balance.
A crossover at or above 2.5 kHz (12 dB/oct or steeper) is recommended. Although it has a lower resonance frequency (~550 Hz), a higher crossover point prevents excessive excursion and distortion, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
