Dayton Audio PS95-8 3-1/2" Point Source Full Range Driver 8 Ohm

The newest addition to Dayton Audio's successful family of Point Source full-range drivers, the PS95-8 model features a lightweight, curved-profile paper cone made of 100% natural fibers, for dynamic and articulate sound that extends from a punchy, detailed bass to the highest treble. The compact 3-1/2" size enables great sonic performance in small satellite speakers on the desktop, or in narrow "needle"-style tower cabinets for filling a larger room.

The copper-anodized aluminum phase plug of the PS95-8 is more than just beautiful – it provides enhanced dispersion and eliminates the resonance from a conventional dust cap. And the optimized, high-strength ferrite magnet structure features a copper pole cap that reduces resolution-sapping inductance and lowers distortion. Our smallest Point Source series full-range driver isn't small on engineering, or performance!

Na 3 jaar trouwe dienst heeft een van mijn PS95-8 het begeven, dus weer een nieuwe besteld. Heb destijds ook een review geschreven. Ik gebruik ze nu voor mid/hoog met een Dayton Audio IC184-7 spoel. Deze ziet er niet alleen mooi uit, maar doen hun werk ook goed rond de 700 hz,

Woofer gaat heel diep laag voor z’n formaat. Kent ook z’n grenzen. Bij hoge volumes gaat hij zwabberen en vervormen.

door een fout van postnl zijn mijn bestelde speaker direct teruggestuurd naar Sound Imports. Ik heb dit gemeld en er werden direct twee nieuwe speaker verzonden. Zeer netjes opgelost. De speakers zijn zijn ook geweldig. Ik heb de Dayton PS95 gekocht om een paar computer speakers van te maken. Ik was onder de indruk!

Een paar weken geleden keek ik een hele rits filmpjes van mensen die hun eigen boxxen in elkaar zetten. Er was er eentje die was helemaal gek van Dayton. Die kocht en bouwde zijn boxxen alleen maar met fullrange drivers. Wat ik zo hoorde klonk het niet verkeerd en ik kreeg het idee om zelf ook eens wat in elkaar te zetten. Maar ik wilde eerst een andere stap nemen. In China kon ik een paar kleine speakerkastjes kopen van Bamboo...en ik nam mij vo...

Por el precio que tienen no creo que haya un altavoz que le iguale, el imán es enorme en relación al tamaño del cono, la construcción y solidez del altavoz es excelente. Ofrece un sonido suave y sin sobresaltos, muy bien cuidado, en mi opinión da mucha presencia al ataque de la percusión, cosa que a mí me gusta. Las voces quedan un poco atrasadas pero los agudos van excelentes, le tengo filtrado a 125 Hz con una pendiente de 12db por octav...

Bought four of these drivers and put them in bamboo sphere* speakers, one facing forward (from 400 Hz) the other backwards (from 3000 Hz). Superbly detailed and airy sweet sound when combined with open baffle woofers up to (400Hz - 15 inch woofers). In all very high audio quality/price ratio. Recommended. *made from IKEA's BLANDA MATT (20cm)

I have these in my car mounted to 1.5L pods over dash aimed to driver. For this money nothing can beat them! Imaging, depth, width everything is spot on. Using them as wide band from 300 and cuts at 18500 naturally. Really good with 7" rs180 and 15" ultimax

Experiment met een kleine speaker. Wat kan je verwachten van 3,5" van nog geen 3 tientjes. Ik had op iets meer hifi gehoopt, maar dat is niet reëel. Leuke speaker voor op het bureau. Met een subwoofer is het snel beter dan de melkpakken van bose. Dat dan weer wel. Ga er nog wat meer mee spelen. Gewoon voor de lol. Het huidige JVC kastje klinkt nu wel veel beter. :)

Snel en correct geleverd. Speaker ziet er voortreffelijk uit. Wat mag je verwachten van een 3,5 inch speaker van minder dan 30 euro? Dan valt het zeker mee. Best een groots geluid in een 2,5 liter basreflex kastje. Zeker voor desktop of een kleine ruimte. Echt "hifi"? Net wat te ongenuanceerd. Volgende keer een iets duurdere TB proberen. :) Moet wellicht nog even losspelen.

Wat een topproduct en dat vooral in deze prijsklasse. Klinkt helder en dynamisch met veel detail, ook bij hoge volumes. Ik speel hiermee in de auto tussen 200 en 2000 hz. Dit zal in de huiskamer als een mid/hoog ook fantastisch klinken. crossover rond de 200 hz afhankelijk van dB/octaaf. 100 hz zal ik zeker niet spelen.

Amazing value for money and perfect for a cheap DIY project, tweeters aren't necessarily needed with these Sound is great and I was really surprised at how much excursion they can handle. Buildquailty is amazing for that price!

I have used these woofers for concrete enclosure speaker boxes and have connect to Logitech powered subwoofer, so I'm satisfied with performance. I'm not an audiophile, but I wanted better audio quality than I had before, and have stylish work desk. Sadly, I have to later remake concrete speakers, as mixing ratios are important. Speakers have different greyness and wood baffle could be used from harder wood.

Prima helder geluid! Heb 4 van deze fullrange speakers gekocht via deze site. De speaker behuizingen heb ik zelf gemaakt,en in elke behuizing heb ik 2 van deze speakers in gemonteerd. Ik heb ze nog niet op zeer hoog volume laten spelen.. Maar dat test ik misschien ooit nog wel.

Use this Driver as a center speaker in my car. Very clear sound with an 68uF filter no distortion at high volume level. Very massive build quality and nice design. Technical specs fit perfect to replace my original center speaker.

As a live audio system engineer I wanted to get started in building speaker enclosures and I selected the Dayton PS95-8 driver because it's being used in a lot of beginner projects. Easy setup, no crossovers and it's supposed to work well in both closed and ported enclosures... I was amazed by the clarity and detail this unit produced, it's slightly overbright but still very pleasant.

I think that PS95-8 is a great fullrange at an honest price. Many people value a speaker, or a brand, by name and look only how much it cost. I look only how a speaker sound, don't mind how much it cost. PS95-8 sound great in middle and high frequencies: plenty of details and and an interesting way to propose a natural sound. I think perhaps that it has a great way to reproduce cymbals, in this it is better than the greater part of tweeters.

Great delivery service and got my drivers in no-time! These drivers have amazing clarity, sweet high frequency and perfectly accurate representation. However they lack a bit of warmth and bottom, which is normal for this size I guess. It did not help that I did a sealed enclosure, so maybe next time I will try doing a vented box.
