Dayton Audio ND91-4 3-1/2" Aluminum Cone Full-Range Driver 4 Ohm

Dayton Audio's ND91 aluminum cone full-range drivers are the latest addition to the acclaimed ND Series high output/low distortion neodymium transducers. By increasing the original ND90's voice coil diameter from 3/4" to 1" and adding a copper alloy shorting ring, the ND91-4 features even lower distortion and delivers better bass impact and dynamic range—with peak Xmax up to 25 mm!

This high-BL version further exploits the low distortion characteristics of the Neo-Balanced motor's optimized magnetic field, making the ND91 drivers an excellent choice for full-range point-source speaker enclosures, as well as extremely accurate, high resolution line arrays.

A good upgrade on the 90-4. This has a larger voice coil, more driving force and lower resonance.

Medium levels of THD, lots of excursion, quite a delicate cone (don't touch it at high excursion with your fingernail, you'll dent it). Overall a great woofer for a compact boombox or a decent option for bookshelf speaker, tho I'd like a lower THD level for a quality bookshelf.

I was not able to find other driver quite like this one. Very linear with a great low-end. Suitable for very small boxes with a passive radiator. This + one of the ND tweeters + 2x ND90PR would make a great little bookshelves. Only thing I dislike is the ugliness when mounted from the front. They look much cleaner when mounted from the rear side of the baffle, but then you might get into problems with time allignment

Solid bass some mids. I crossed this with a cheap Dayton ND 16 Fa6 tweeter crossed at around 5khz

i bought those for a small micro monitor coupled with a cheap Dayton tweeter. I expected some bass from these, but the output of bass is fantastic. From i choose to cross them at about 5 kHz, 4th order crossover with 6 components.

These little beast are monsters.. The first hours the woofers may sound bad, obviously, all drivers must be broken in! I did mine for 7 hours and it already had a huge huge difference.. I'm using sure electronics amplifier 2x30w with 8 ohms load What to say.. I really really recommend these beasts! For the price. It's the same as ordering outside europe ( you have to pay eu customs, tax tax tax, shipping fee and shipping time is slow). Ins...
