Seas Prestige 27TBCD/GB-DXT - H1499-06 1'' Aluminum Dome Tweeter

The 27TBCD/GB-DXT is a High Definition aluminum/magnesium alloy dome tweeter with DXT® lens. An optimally shaped dome and a wide SONOMEX surround, both manufactured by SEAS, ensure excellent performance and consistency. The compensation magnet increases the sensitivity and reduces the magnetic strayfield and allows use in close proximity to CRT screens. A fine mesh grid protects the diaphragm.

The stiff and stable rear chamber with optimal acoustic damping allows the tweeter to be used with moderately low crossover frequencies. This revolutionary DXT® tweeter addresses the major issues regarding directivity control in traditional loudspeaker designs as well as off-axis response, integration with midrange units and baffle diffractions.

From my perspective the Seas DXT is one of the best tweeters available, also Grimm are using it in their LS1 as well as the Kii Three (both >8.000EUR a pair). The frequency response shows a wide increase from 790Hz to 10.000Hz caused/proofe that the Waveguide works. But the increase is easily to handle (active but also passive) so that we end around 88db @ 2,83V/m. The harmonic distortion is low even at 100db, from 2.000Hz K2 will be under 1% ...
